Cited from an E-Mail: " .. Today [4th of July] was awesome. And it's just the beginning. Between the Thunderclap that reached 9.3 million people, the Restore the Fourth protests that drew thousands in more than 100 cities, the Internet Defense League action with participation from sites like BoingBoing and 4chan, and the 30-second ad that your donations put on TVs across the country, today may have been the largest protest for privacy rights in U.S. history. And it all happened on the 4th of July-- a day to celebrate a revolution kindled by outrage against arbitrary searches, and the start of a new country where warrantless surveillance was *supposed* to be very, very illegal. We put together this gallery of screenshots for the day. We especially think you'll like this one. The protest is still going on as we speak... and we can keep it up straight through the weekend with more donations to the TV ad. .. " ... Link |
