And it all happened on the 4th of July-- a day to celebrate a revolution kindled by outrage against arbitrary searches, and the start of a new country where warrantless surveillance was *supposed* to be very, very illegal.

A new word I learned today. It's supposed to say: Making up things - wrapped into a story - that at first glance sound convincing. At second glance everything told turns out to be a lie.

WIKIPEDIA says, however, that this must not necessarily be on purpose - it is considered to be a disease ....
