As the figures show this seems to be a trend in other countries, too, but at a much more moderate level.

The NYTimes reports that scientists are guessing what the reason for this desaster might be - my best guess is:
An overwhelming and ever increasing part of the U.S.-corporations are not producing goods any more - there is no substance produced for years now, and the growth of the economy depends on one hand mainly on software & related products, on the other on the banking sector with all the flaws discovered since 2010.

But who will believe me - compared to some renowned Professors who are clueless?

There is a severe problem arising in the United States - up to date unnoticed by the general public and just recently getting attention in the media:
Unemployment in the age group between 24 and 34 has risen enormously during the last decade.
